Chimney Flashing & Waterproofing In Toronto

Signs Of A Chimney Leak
Water travels, so the stain is rarely right under the problem.
Stains Near The Chimney
On the ceiling or wall beside the chimney, often after heavy rain or snow melt.
Water In The Firebox
After storms — from the flashing, the crown or a missing cap.
A Damp Attic Around The Stack
Wet wood or insulation where the chimney passes through.
Tar Patches On The Roof
Someone has patched it before. Tar buys months, not years.
Peeling Paint By The Fireplace
Moisture behind the finish is coming from somewhere above.
Not sure which one you’re seeing? That is what the free inspection is for. Book it here or call (416) 505-6228.

Questions About Flashing & Waterproofing
Anything else — call (416) 505-6228.
How do I know the leak is from the chimney?
Stains near the fireplace, water in the firebox after storms, or a damp attic around the stack are the usual signs. We trace the leak before touching anything.
Is tar an acceptable fix?
Tar buys months, not years, and it makes the proper repair harder later. We replace the flashing itself.
What is counter flashing?
The second layer, set into the masonry, that covers the step flashing. The two-layer system is what keeps water out.
Do you waterproof the brick too?
Yes — breathable masonry waterproofing where it makes sense, so the brick sheds water without trapping moisture.
What does flashing repair cost?
It depends on the roof, access and how far the water got, so no blind numbers online. The inspection is free and the price is set at your home before any work.
