Chimney Caps In Toronto

An open flue lets in rain, snow, leaves and animals. A cap sized to your chimney keeps them out — single-flue, multi-flue or custom, measured on the roof, not guessed from the driveway.

  • Measured on the roof — to your flue size and count
  • Old or rusted cap — removed and taken away
  • Screened — to keep animals and debris out

Signs You Need A Chimney Cap

A cap is the simplest protection a chimney can get.

No Cap At All

The flue is open to the sky, so rain, snow and debris go straight down.

A Rusted Or Bent Cap

Rust and storm damage let water and animals through.

Animals In The Chimney

Scratching or nesting sounds usually mean the flue is open. If something is nesting, we deal with that first.

Water In The Firebox

Rain coming straight down the flue often means a missing or damaged cap.

Leaves In The Fireplace

If debris is landing in the firebox, it is coming in from the top.

Not sure which one you’re seeing? That is what the free inspection is for. Book it here or call (416) 505-6228.

Questions About Chimney Caps

Anything else — call (416) 505-6228.

Do I really need a chimney cap?

If the flue is open to the sky, water, snow, animals and debris are getting in. A cap is the simplest protection a chimney can get.

Which cap is right for my chimney?

It depends on your flue size, the number of flues and the fuel. We measure on the roof and recommend the right fit — single, multi-flue or custom.

Will a cap stop squirrels and raccoons?

A properly installed cap with screening keeps animals out. If something is already nesting inside, we deal with that first.

Will a cap affect drafting?

A correctly sized cap won’t hurt draft — a wrong one can. That is why we size to the flue instead of guessing.

How long does installation take?

Usually a single short visit once the right cap is on hand. We confirm timing when we call you back.
